Holiday arrangement

Materials: Pine's branch,mum, white mizuhiki,painted
PVC pipe,root and a piece of trunk.
Container: Cup kenzan



Traditional trio of pine and mum make a bold impression by adding red painted PVC creating a festive  mood of this arrangement.  The Goddess of spring is said to dwell in pine trees for the new year to bring happiness to all. (12-18-12)

Materials: Different types and colors of mums.
Container: ceramic vase.
Vertical composition in one kind of material ,using different types and colors of mums and the placement order of seven chrysanthemum arrangement.  Ms. Lin likes it, so do I. It looks very energetic and cheerful. (12-18-12)

Happy New Year


Materials:Pine, red carnation, mizuhiki (Japanese paper strings),old branch.
Others:  Cup kenzan, Japanese tray. painted black bamboo.
 Traditional Japanese style arrangement for New Year. The tray was arranged slanting and created more lively movement and gold ,silver mizuhiki add up to a festive mood. My classmates they are all struck by this arrangement. This slanting branch was given by my teacher and looks very elegant but powerful, indeed.(12-4-12)

Merry Christmas

Materials; Holly branch, red berry,white  mum, red carnation.
Container :Olive color's glass vase.
Others: Pebble stone, golden spray.
Colors for a Holiday arrangement include gold, silver, red,white and green. This is my Ikebana style of a holiday arrangement for Christmas. I like it very much they are assembled magnificently to create a dramatic impression.  The beautiful container was a gift from my son in Boston.  We had a potluck lunch after class, dinner table arrangement arranged by our teacher Ms. Lin.  Food was delicious and table was pretty. We enjoyed today's class  as well as potluck lunch. (12-04-12)

Happy Thanksgiving

In October at our community art craft show I found this beautiful Cane and used for today's arrangement . So pretty and unique.  Thanks the person  who gave me this wonderful treasure. Happy Thanksgiving.(11-20-12)

Free style- From California with love

 Due to Hurricane Sandy,we stayed two more days in California and came home safely. Those cycads  I brought back from LA. After trimming this is  Love from California .(11-6-12)

Summertime,and the livin's is easy. Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high. Oh, your daddy's rich,and your mamma's good lookin'  So hush litter baby. Don't you cry. One of these morning's, you're going to rise up singing. Then you'll spread your wings,and you'll take to the sky. But until that morning,there's a'nothing can harm you.  The scenery of Autumn is beautiful, and strongly impressed in my memory.  Autumn breeze jumps out my mind which  was my subject, arranged for today's class. (10-02-12)

Added wood in this mass arrangement , creating its special expression. I loved this contemporary arrangement. The beautiful wood bark was borrowed from my teacher. It really makes different. (10-02-12)

I arranged Variation No3. Upright style,because I want to combine Zinnia and Sedum in the low position effectively and created artistic tension to the arrangement..

 Fall Harvest Exhibition has become Grace Church's tradition to celebrate Fall's harvest. And show our gratitude to God's Grace and Unlimited love. I also want to thank my teacher Ms. Lin, my friends Betty, Doris, Lynn and Vivian for their continuous support . The event was a great success,without  their participation and help this mission would be unable to accomplish.

Shofuso - Japanese House and Garden

Escape to Japan in west Fairmount Park Philadelphia.  Shofuso, Japanese House and Garden is a traditional style Japanese and nationally-ranked garden in Philadelphia's west Fairmount park. A viewing garden with koi pond and island, a tea garden, and a courtyard garden comprise the 17th century-style Japanese walled and fenced garden of this historic site.     Our Sensei Ms. Lin provided one Ikebana arrangements to Shofuso on Aug. 17th to 19th, 2012 exhibition.
