After 32 years I retired from Jones New York Company as pattern maker. Working at the garden and seeing beautiful flowers is the best way to lessen my frustrations. Since 2008 I joined Sogetsu School Ikebana class under Ms.Meei-Huey Lin,well known Ikebana Instructor in this area. I would like to share with you some of my Ikebana arrangements done at the classes. Welcome for your kind criticism.

Variation No.8 Combined styles 1
In this style. two or more independent arrangements
are made in the separate containers and they are combined to form one composition. After Ms. Lin's explanations and demonstrations, I arranged this composition with two different suibans (Moribana and Moribana). You can use any shapes or colors of the containers you like, but overall balance and the total harmony are very important. Having created by combining the arrangements, both of which are also well made with originality and their independent existence. In the front I created delicate and soft looks with smaller heliopsis. In the back I put bigger black-eyed susans to intensify the looks. Ms. Lin gave me good commands. (8-04-09)
